The wellbeing of New York City's senior population is a critical challenge facing the future of our city. The current population of New Yorkers over 65, which stands at approximately one million today, is expected to rise to nearly two million by the year 2040. New York's elderly population faces challenges relatable to seniors across our country. These challenges often stem from the reality of living on fixed incomes. We need to protect the programs that allow seniors to live in security. David will fight for affordable senior housing, access to health care, services that improve senior mobility, and funding of the centers that so many of New York's seniors depend on.
